Council on Aging Community Survey Meeting

Tuesday, May 21, 1:00-3:00pm – Auditorium at Brewster Ladies Library
Community Survey Meeting

The Council on Aging (COA) contracted with UMASS Boston Gerontology Institute in the fall of 2023 to conduct a study about needs and interest of residents as they grow older. Research staff from UMASS conducted a community survey which was completed by almost 1,400 residents aged 50 and older (23% response rate). They also conducted several focus groups and interviewed key stakeholders in Town government and community organizations. The results of the study are intended to support planning on the part of the Town, the COA, and the community as a whole. Since early 2024, the COA Board and staff have reviewed the results and used them to develop their second 5-year Action Plan. Implementation of the Plan will start in July and will guide COA programs, services and activities through FY2029. The COA Director and Board will present a summary of the study results and an overview of this 5-year plan to the community on Tuesday, May 21 from 1-3pm at the Brewster Ladies Library.

All residents are invited to hear what was learned and what is planned, as well as to provide comment and feedback. No registration is required. For more information, please call the Council on Aging at 508-896-2737.
